Is fibre available everywhere on Telkom's network?
Fibre is only available in targeted areas that have been earmarked for high-speed broadband access. A sales agent will assist you with checking if your address is in coverage. Fill in the form on the link below and we will check your Telkom Fibre internet coverage:
How do I sign up for Telkom fibre to the home?
To sign up for FTTH you need to follow these easy steps:

  1. Fill in your details on the quick online application from www.uncappedfibre.co.za/telkom/openserve
  2. Once we receive your quick form details, we will call you to confirm them and send you an application to sign electronically.
  3. Send us the signed application along with your supporting documentation.
  4. We will process the deal and schedule your fibre installation
What documentation do I need for the Telkom fibre application?

Telkom requires the following supporting documentation:

  • Clear copy of ID (a certified copy is preferred*)
  • Proof of physical address (not older than 3 months)
  • Latest Telkom bill (only required if you are an existing Telkom client)
Can I use a 3rd party for payments?

Yes, you can. You will need to supply a copy of the ID of the person whose bank account will be used, as well as a signed letter (provided to you) giving you authority to use their bank account for the specified Telkom service payment.

How long does the process take once the application form has been submitted?

FTTH applications take 7 to 21 working days. Please ensure you submit your documents early.

Top tips to ensure speedy installation:

  1. Make sure any Telkom accounts you have are paid up. Telkom will not process new applications if old accounts are outstanding.
  2. Ensure your application form is filled in accurately and legibly, and that you send in the correct supporting documents.


If you are in a planned fibre area, there is no installation timeframe, but completing your paperwork now ensures you are first in line when the fibre goes live.

Is there a once-off installation fee or setup charge for Telkom fibre to the home?

No, there will not be an installation charge for Telkom fibre packages.

How long are the Telkom fibre to the home contracts?

Uncapped fibre is on a month-to-month contract with a minimum commitment of 12 months. If the package is cancelled within the first 12 months, Telkom will bill for installation, activation, and any free products received.

Can I upgrade or downgrade my Telkom fibre to the home package?

You may upgrade or downgrade at any time.

  • Upgrades may attract a small upgrade fee.
  • Downgrading within the contract term will result in a penalty.
  • Cancellations depend on the contract terms agreed with Telkom and require at least one calendar month's notice.

Do you supply internal Wi-Fi boosting Access Points (APs)?

Yes. For large homes or premises, a cabled AP solution is recommended. We use Ubiquiti APs connected by Ethernet to the router, with cabling run to the area needing coverage. The AP is mounted on the ceiling similar to a light fitting. Speak to us for pricing and a Wi-Fi solution quote.

Can I make calls over my Telkom fibre line?

Yes you can, using the DSL Telecom VoIP cloud phone.
