Which plan best suits me?
Our plans all have the same phone system features, only the service levels and call rates differ. If you are technically savvy or have resources to manage your own system, then the self-managed plan may be best. If you need help on a self-managed plan you can still get it from DSL Telecom, we will just charge you an hourly rate for Telephonic, Remote and On-Site Support. If you do not want to worry about managing your own system and you just want to get on with your business, then outsource all the work to us and select a managed service plan.
The Enterprise managed plan includes unlimited telephonic and remote support and a discounted call out rate for on-site support.
The Ultimate managed plan includes free on-site support as well and a further discounted call rate.
Do I need an internet connection to use the phone system?
Yes, to access the DSL Telecom Cloud Phone System you will need to have a high-speed internet connection dedicated for voice access to ensure the highest call quality.
How long is the contract term?
Phone system pricing is billed per extension per month and you can up upgrade/downgrade or cancel with 30 days’ notice in writing. If you require hardware and have chosen to rent the equipment/phones from DSL Telecom, this will be bound to a minimum contract term, usually 36 months.
Can I use my existing IP phones?
If you already have IP phones, you can use them with our Cloud PBX provided those IP phones have been interoperability tested. Here is a list of IP phone brands that have been tested and can be used:
Yealink, Fanvil, Grandstream, Cisco, Snom, Polycom, Htek, Gigaset, Tiptel, Alcatel, Akuvox, Panasonic, Escene, Mitel, Univois.
What is the call limit on the Cloud Voice service?
Each voice service supplied by DSL Telecom has a call limit of R1500. Should you require a higher call limit you can either pay a security deposit or sign for surety to get the call limit raised.
Can I use my existing VoIP provider?
Yes, our phone system works with any VoIP service provider.
Are there limits to the call recording storage?
Call recording is limited to 500 rolling minutes per phone system. Once you have used the storage space for 500 minutes, the recordings will be overwritten with new recordings. 500 minutes for the average company will last around 4-5 months. If you require more storage space to keep call recordings for longer, please request a custom quote from us.
Can the system be set up remotely?
Yes, in cases where clients are technically savvy or where the cost of sending a technician on-site is not feasible.
What is included in the set-up fee?
The set-up fee includes the remote provisioning and set-up of your company phone system including:
User account and billing creation
User extension creation
Provision and creation of voice/SIP accounts
Security settings
Porting
Do you recommend on-site installation?
Yes, to ensure a smooth transition to the cloud we will allocate an on-site technician to help configure call routing, record IVR's, provide training to users and lock down security. We will also allocate a project manager to manage all the project steps which may include interim solutions, porting, cancellation of old services etc.
How long does it take to get up and running?
Once you have placed your order and paid the set-up fee, DSL Telecom will provision the phone system service, usually within the same working day and you will be able to use the system immediately using the free Linkus softphone applications for Desktop and Mobile.
Does the set-up fee cover on-site installation?
No, on-site installation, training and project management are quoted separately and are highly recommended for a smooth transition to the Cloud.
What hardware do you supply?
We supply Yealink IP phones and conference equipment. Yealink offers a high quality and affordable IP phone range. Yealink has been interoperability tested to work perfectly with DSL Telecom's Cloud PBX. If there is a specific requirement, we can also offer IP phones from other suppliers such as Fanvil, Grandstream, Cisco etc.
How do the hardware rentals work?
We can sell you equipment as an outright purchase or you can rent the equipment from us over a fixed 36-month term. If you require a longer/shorter term, we can accommodate this as well. At the end of the term you can choose to do one of the following:
Upgrade your equipment and start a new service on new terms
Buy out the hardware at 3 x the monthly fee and own the equipment
Continue on a month-to-month basis
Cancel by providing 90 days’ notice before the end of the initial term
Does DSL Telecom provide phone numbers?
DSL Telecom can supply you with a new 087 number or a new geographic (010, 021 etc) number. You can also port in your existing geographic or non-geographic number to the DSL Telecom Cloud.
Can I keep my phone number?
Yes, we can port your geographic number (010, 021 etc) or your non-geographic number (0860, 087 etc) to the DSL Telecom Cloud so you can keep your existing number, or we can provide you with new numbers.
Can I still use my legacy Telkom lines?
In cases when we are waiting for porting to happen or for fibre to be installed we can provide an on-site VoIP gateway so that you can start using the Cloud phone system while still connecting to your existing Telkom analogue/ISDN lines.
